Bridges (Permanent and Removable)

Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth. Dental bridges which replace missing teeth are extremely versatile and valuable in restoring a person's smile. Your existing teeth are used to literally create a bridge to cross the area where you have missing teeth. Bridges can be permanent in nature or they can be constructed to be removable in nature.

Permanent bridges are made by tapering the tooth on both sides of an existing space, and having the missing teeth replaced by permanently cementing them (after fabrication in a dental laboratory) to the tooth on either side of the space.

Permanent  bridge fabrication including preparation, fitting and shade matching generally takes 2-3 weeks. Our patients are fitted with a temporary bridge that keeps them esthetically presentable and properly functional until the permanent bridge is cemented in place.

Bridges can also be removable in nature. This kind of bridge is often chosen when a larger number of teeth are being replaced. Several varieties of this kind of bridge are available depending on the health of the remaining teeth or because of financial considerations.

Dental bridges are critical for restoring esthetics and function for our patients. They also give greater longevity to a patient's remaining teeth because they help share the chewing load for these remaining teeth.
