Dental abscesses, due to periodontal disease, and/or advanced dental decay often require tooth extraction. Prior to tooth removal, other options are presented and explored, with our patients who ultimately make the final decision regarding treatment selection.
Our office provides routine dental extractions including uncomplicated wisdom teeth. Generally, a radiograph (x-ray) is made of the offending tooth to assist our decision to remove the tooth or to refer to an oral surgeon. Our office prescribes antibiotics for infection and pain medication as needed along with post-operative treatment instructions for all tooth extraction and other dental surgeries.
